Maxxen Energy Inaugurates Utility-Scale BESS Factory in Turkey
Maxxen Energy recently inaugurated a new factory for utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Aydın, Turkey. This 20,000 square meter facility manufactures containerized solutions, including 5 MWh DC Boxes and optional MV Power Stations. The plant, which commenced operations in 2026, emphasizes a transparent approach to manufacturing and supply chain.
Maxxen Energy has recently achieved a significant milestone in the production of utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) with the inauguration of a new factory in Aydın, Turkey. This state-of-the-art facility, which commenced operations in 2026, spans an impressive 20,000 square meters and is entirely dedicated to the manufacturing of containerized BESS solutions.
The factory, supported by Maxxen's headquarters in Switzerland, focuses on producing two primary product lines. These include the robust 5 MWh DC Box container, a crucial component for many utility-scale projects. Additionally, Maxxen offers an optional MV Power Station, referred to as the MV Box, which is available in various power configurations: 2.5 MW, 5.0 MW, or 10 MW. This flexibility enables developers to precisely tailor storage solutions to the specific requirements of their projects.
During a recently organized open day at the site, visitors, including media representatives, gained unique insights into the operations. Ruben Valiente, Maxxen's Managing Director, along with staff and leadership from parent company Kontek Energy, provided a transparent view into the strategic approach, the complexities of the supply chain, and the advanced automated assembly processes driving the 20,000-square-meter plant. This level of openness is uncommon in the industry and highlights the company's confidence in its methodologies.
The facility adheres to several important industrial certifications, including TÜV Accredited and ISO 27001. Furthermore, the factory is LEED Certified, signifying its 100% self-sustained operational status. These certifications affirm the high quality and sustainability standards upheld by Maxxen Energy. The emphasis on "Made in Europe" continues to be a relevant theme within the large-scale battery systems sector, and Maxxen's investment in Turkey contributes to strengthening the regional manufacturing capacity for advanced energy storage technologies.
