AlphaESS Malaysia Sdn Bhd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DB Energy Sdn Bhd. This agreement outlines a collaboration for the development of an integrated hybrid power supply system for an artificial intelligence (AI) data center. The project is planned for Bagan Datuk, located in Perak, Malaysia.

This strategic partnership will combine AlphaESS' expertise in battery energy storage technology and manufacturing capabilities with DB Energy's local knowledge in project development and implementation. Battery energy storage is set to play a key role in supporting the data center's power infrastructure, ensuring a reliable and flexible energy supply. The increasing demands of AI applications necessitate an uninterrupted and stable power flow, for which hybrid systems incorporating battery storage offer an effective solution.

Zoe Zhang, General Manager of AlphaESS, highlighted the significance of the Malaysian market. She stated that the expanding data center sector is generating new requirements for robust and adaptable energy infrastructures. The collaboration with DB Energy enables AlphaESS to merge their advanced energy storage technology and manufacturing capabilities with strong local project expertise, which is crucial for successful deployment.

The MoU signing took place during the International Greentech and Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM) 2026, held from October 7 to 9 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. At this exhibition, AlphaESS also launched its latest commercial and industrial battery energy storage system, the STORION-LC-TB150, specifically for the Malaysian market. This liquid-cooled, all-in-one system is engineered to assist commercial and industrial users in optimizing energy costs, managing peak electricity demand, integrating renewable energy sources, and providing backup power. The introduction of such systems underscores the commitment to sustainable and efficient energy solutions in the region.
